Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she won the Emmy Award. Also, she has appeared in dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born the sole child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a high-ranking executive of the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with 4 brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. However, in high school the time came when she began modeling commercials, she moved to New York. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and in dramas. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her only son.
